Companies related by common ownership or control. They can be financial or nonfinancial companies. 
Our affiliates include single-member real estate holding companies, special purpose trust entities, Independent Bank Corporation, IBC Financial Services, Inc., Independent Title Services, Inc.; Mepco Finance Corporation and Mepco Acceptance Corporation.

Nonaffiliates 
Companies not related by common ownership or control. They can be financial or nonfinancial companies. 
Independent Bank does not share with non affiliates so they can market to you.

Joint marketing 
A formal agreement between nonaffiliated financial companies that together market financial products or services to you.
