Independent Bank 'Made a Difference' In Local Communities 2016

4th largest Michigan-based bank dedicated an entire day to a company-wide volunteer effort

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Independent Bank closed its offices on Columbus Day, October 10, 2016, to participate in an all-employee volunteer day. Independent Bank’s employees took part in “Making A Difference Day,” where they volunteered in teams across the state.

Employees selected from a variety of organizations and non-profits throughout their local communities to give back for the day. Taking part in a myriad of activities, ranging from beautifying the Fred Meijer Grand River Valley Trail, to collecting food for the Mount Pleasant Food Bank, to packing sack lunches at IM Kids 3rd Meal, the Independent Bank teams throughout Michigan definitely made a positive difference in their communities.

“Having the opportunity to volunteer with fellow co-workers in our communities for the entire day was such a rewarding experience,” said Tricia Raquepaw, VP, Marketing Director at Independent Bank. “Knowing that the Bank values volunteering enough to dedicate an entire day to helping our communities, makes the opportunity that much more impactful.”
