Independent Bank Corporation (NASDAQ: IBCP), the holding company of Independent Bank, a Michigan-based community bank, announced that it has hired Kris Kreter as First Vice President, Controller.
Mr. Kreter brings nearly seven years of financial services experience. He earned his Bachelor’s in Accounting and Master’s in Public and Corporate Accounting from Michigan State University. He is a certified public accountant who began his career at Grant Thornton, LLP in Dallas, Texas, and was most recently an Audit Manager at BDO USA, LLP in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
He brings a wealth of knowledge to Independent Bank in the areas of accounting practices and procedures, SEC reporting, and auditing of publicly-traded companies.
