Independent Bank’s “unique and local” Bad Axe office has grand opening

Independent Bank announces the grand opening of its new banking office at 655 N. Port Crescent in Bad Axe. During the grandopening days, December 16 through December 18, visitors can enjoy free coffee, treats and giveaways. A ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the opening of the banking office is also scheduled for December 18.

“We designed our branch especially for our Bad Axe community members, so we’re looking forward to having them come in and experience their new unique and local banking office,” said Independent Bank’s Senior Vice President Michael J. Stodolak.

The Bad Axe office features an open concept design that’s interactive and customer-focused, but with a local feel. The goal is to give customers a warm, personal experience while providing access to technology and community information. The new branch features:

  • A welcoming experience for customers – when customers come into the branch, they’ll see teller “pods” instead of a traditional teller line. There is room between the pods so that tellers can easily walk between them to greet customers.
  • Photos of customers’ farms taken by a professional photographer are displayed throughout the office.
  • Three high-definition digital screens – two screens display advertising, videos and community event information. The third screen is interactive; customers can simply touch it to access subscribed content such as news, weather and other websites.
  • A wifi hotspot, along with an iPad and laptop in the lobby area, can be used by customers or associates for on-the-spot product and service demonstrations.

“The new branch is really about celebrating our local community, and to show our support, Independent Bank is making a $500 donation to the Bad Axe Public Schools and to the Human Development Commission’s Walk for Warmth fundraiser,” said Cheryl Krueger, branch manager at Independent Bank’s Bad Axe office.
