How to Use SnapCheck

By Independent Bank November 2 2015 Mobile Banking

Save yourself a trip to the bank — deposit your check on-the-go with SnapCheck

Independent Bank SnapCheck

Remember when you actually had to visit your local bank branch to deposit a check—a process that could take several days, depending on your busy schedule? This is not the case anymore.

Depositing a check from home—whether it’s a rebate, from your neighbor, or from your employer—can be done within minutes, and at any time of the day or night, using Independent Bank’s SnapCheck mobile app.

Using SnapCheck

It’s a snap! Here are the basics:

1. If you haven’t already, enroll in Mobile Banking. This will allow you to access all of your banking information using your smartphone.
2. Once you’ve logged into the Mobile Banking app on your smartphone, select “Check Deposit” from the menu options.
3. Tap the “Deposit Check” button and follow the instructions from there. You’ll need to confirm that you acknowledge the disclosure statement, and then take two photos of the check on your phone—one of the front and one of the back. Fill in the amount of the check, select which account the check should be deposited into, and provide an email address where you would like the receipt sent. Lastly, approve the deposit.

Benefits of SnapCheck

“Customers enjoy using SnapCheck because it eliminates the need to visit a branch or ATM to deposit their checks,” says Elizabeth Rose, Assistant Vice President for product development at Independent Bank.

“SnapCheck is a great option if a customer does not live near a branch or cannot get to a branch during business hours,” Rose says.

And SnapCheck is completely secure—“just as secure as making a deposit at the branch or ATM,” says Rose. “The photos of the check are not stored on the phone, and the information is sent securely to Independent Bank.”
