I’m Joshua Hinch, Senior Mortgage Loan Originator (NMLS #586237) with Independent Bank. I work from Southwest Michigan, including Harbor Country, St. Joseph, Paw Paw, and South Haven, but I also have a lot of experience working throughout Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Florida, and North Carolina. I’ve worked in financial services since 1999 and have specialized in mortgage lending since 2008, starting my career during the market collapse, where I quickly built a reputation for creativity, accuracy, and thoughtful guidance.
I work with a wide range of borrowers, including second-home and vacation home buyers, luxury and jumbo borrowers, first-time homebuyers, construction clients, veterans, and self-employed borrowers. I’m well versed in a broad spectrum of home loan options and grant programs, and I enjoy helping customers find mortgage solutions that align with their long-term financial goals.

Originally from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, I moved to Southwest Michigan over 25 years ago and have watched our communities grow and change. I’m actively involved in financial literacy programs, community service projects, and have been an affiliate committee member with the Southwestern Michigan Association of REALTORS® for nearly two decades. Outside of work, I enjoy time with my four adult children, my grandchildren, and exploring other cultures through food.
