We've made some changes to the login process to enhance the security of online banking.
The sign on screens have a new design, and the User ID field is now located on the right side of the screen. Your picture and phrase have been removed, and you are no longer required to register your computer. New security features allow you to authenticate your identity using a one-time security code provided via a phone call or SMS text message, or by answering a series of new security questions.

New online banking option allows customers to make principal only loan payments

Beginning Tuesday, September 18, principal only loan payments will be offered to Independent Bank’s customers with any loan type in online banking.

For example, if you have a personal loan or a mortgage, you can make a payment on the principal. You can also decide to enter a regular payment, a regular payment and extra principal or simply an extra principal payment.

This new feature is offered under the Transfer Funds tab in online banking. Simply follow the prompts to make a principal only loan payment.

Online banking enhancement allows loan customers to access payment information

A new enhancement is available in online banking that allows loan customers to access their payment details. With this function, access to the following information is now displayed:

  • 540 days of loan activity*
  • Up to 18 months of loan activity can be searched at one time
  • Loan rate changes and rate change reversals
  • Additional loan payment details, including the amounts applied to the Principal, Interest, Escrow and Fee

This enhancement means that you will no longer need to request Principal, Interest or Escrow information. It’s all right there at your fingertips.

*Note: Most mortgage payments will display in online banking with the due date rather than the actual date the payment was made. The loan activity does not display items such as unapplied funds, life insurance payments related to escrow, and late fees paid outside of a payment.

Notice: All federal benefits will be paid electronically

•If you will apply for federal benefits on or after May 1, 2011, you will need to choose your preferred electronic payment option when you enroll to receive benefits from the Social Security Administration, Veterans Affairs, Railroad Retirement Board, Office of Personnel Management or Department of Labor (Black Lung).
•If you are already getting federal benefits payments by paper check, you will need to make the switch from paper benefit checks to electronic payments by March 1, 2013.
•If you do not choose an electronic payment option by March 1, 2013, or at the time you apply for federal benefits, you will receive your payments via the Direct Express® card so you will not experience any interruption in payment.
•If you are already receiving your federal benefit payments electronically, this change will not affect you.
•Visit the Go Direct website to learn more or sign up.

  • Easily add your payees
  • Quickly find the information you are looking for – such as recent and scheduled payments

New balance pop-up field available
April, 2010

We are pleased to announce that a new balance pop-up field will be available to consumer electronic banking customers beginning Saturday, April 10, 2010. This pop-up will be available on the following screens:

  • Accounts Overview
  • Account Activity
  • Account Information

How it works
When you click on an available balance amount, the balance details window will be displayed. The calculation will include any funds contributing to the available balance and total accessible balance.
