Jackson Affordable Housing Corporation announces "Homebuyer 101" – a class for those interested in homeownership now or in the near future – sponsored by Independent Bank.
This two-part class will feature guest speakers – Larry Loveless and Mark Olsen of Independent Bank to share information on the mortgage process, as well as credit; Realtor Collin Cote of ERA Reardon – Brooklyn to discuss the services realtors can offer; and Fred Longton of All American Inspections to talk about the variety of inspections available and why you need them. The entire home purchase process will be covered, from determining if you are ready to purchase a home, to budgeting, to closing, and maintenance tips.
The sessions will be held on Monday, June 17 and Monday, June 24 from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. This is a certificate class – both sessions must be attended in full. Since some mortgages require a certificate from a state authorized counseling agency, the certificate can be helpful for homebuyers. Light dinner will be provided, along with door prizes. The classes will be held in the 3rd floor conference room at City Hall, 161 W. Michigan Ave., Jackson, MI 49201. Seats are limited – please call Darcy at 517.788.4626 to reserve your spot.
