Independent Bank was nationally recognized for its contributions to the community at the American Bankers Association National Conference for Community Bankers in Hollywood, Florida.
Independent Bank was awarded a Certificate of Recognition for their involvement in a number of community activities including food drives, office team fundraising and financial literacy presentations to students and adults. Through these activities, bank associates were able to donate hundreds of food items to local food banks and raise thousands of dollars for various charitable causes. Bank associates worked with community leaders and teachers statewide to educate over 5,000 children and adults on financial topics such as saving, credit and preventing identity theft.
The award was given to the entire team for the positive impact the program has had on the community.
“Independent Bank is honored to receive recognition for our commitment, passion and leadership throughout the state of Michigan,” said Shelby Reno, senior vice president of marketing. “Independent Bank and its associates have distinguished themselves for their longstanding commitment of giving back to this community.”
