Home fires can be devastating for individuals and families. In an effort to help those who have been affected by home fires in West Michigan, the American Red Cross’ Tiffany Circle Society of Women Leaders for West Michigan is providing Comfort Kits. The group assembles the kits and provides them immediately after a disaster to help meet basic hygiene needs for those affected.

Project Comfort begins October 1 and runs through October 31. To donate items to the kits, community members can visit one of the following Independent Bank offices in the Grand Rapids area.

Small bottle of hand sanitizer
Dental floss
Small notebook
Pen/pencil

Requested contents for children’s care kits:
Child size toothbrush and toothpaste
Hairbrush
Small bar of soap
Washcloth

Coloring book
Small stuffed animal
Box of crayons
