Independent Bank offices in Newaygo, Howard City, Croton, White Cloud, Big Rapids, Portland, Trufant, Belding, Saranac, Lyons, Carson City and Ionia areas will host a special community event on Friday, June 17. Associates will celebrate the start of the new cycle in the bank’s gift program, which offers free gifts to new checking customers and current customers who refer friends and family.

Free Friday is unique because Independent Bank's offices in these areas will feature extended hours from 7 am to 7 pm. It also includes special offers and a variety of activities that community members can participate in. Each office will highlight a different theme with a variety of activities.

In Howard City, associates will be selling water and coffee to raise funds for Helping Hands, as well as collecting blankets for the organization. The Croton office is supporting Hookin’ up Heros, an organization which provides financial support to veterans. Hookin’ up Heros is preparing for an upcoming event at the Newaygo State Park on June 18 and the office will be collecting donations for that effort. The office will be providing individuals who make a donation on June 17 with an Independent Bank American flag.

“We are excited to celebrate a fun and exciting day with our communities,” said Brian Talbot, senior vice president at Independent Bank. “Community outreach is an important priority to the bank. We believe it’s very important to give back to the communities we serve and these unique events are a great way to get involved.”
