Independent Bank confirms commitment to ethical lending through national association membership

November 05, 2008

Independent Bank has joined the National Reverse Mortgage Lenders Association (NRMLA), the trade association of the reverse mortgage lending industry. Membership in the organization confirms the bank’s alignment with the association’s Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility.

Already firmly committed to responsible lending, Independent Bank lenders will have access to resources such as educational training sessions and best practices, which will allow them to further their efforts in the areas of consumer education and service.

“Our membership in the NRMLA and adoption of the Code of Ethics demonstrates our commitment to offering the best possible service to our senior customers,” said Deb Campbell, vice president of mortgage product development and training for Independent Bank.

As a member of the organization, Independent Bank lenders agree to abide by the NRMLA’s Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility. Michael M. Magee Jr., president and CEO; Russ Daniel, senior vice president of mortgage lending; and Dave Reglin, executive vice president of retail banking, signed the NRMLA Code of Ethics on behalf of all bank associates in October.
