Independent Bank raises $63,000 for the American Cancer Society

400 Independent Bank associates and their families participate in 16 Relay For Life events statewide
Independent Bank associates wrapped up a very successful 2008 Relay For Life season, raising a total of $63,000 for the American Cancer Society.
Donations for ACS Relay For Life events were raised through various efforts, including bus trips and associate-hosted sales featuring handmade bracelets, used books, ACS pin-up feet, candy bars and homemade baked goods. Offices located near community events, such as fireworks shows, sold parking spots to raise money for the cause. Other offices assembled Relay For Life cookbooks featuring recipes submitted by Independent Bank associates and customers.
Funds were also raised through personal contributions made by associates, as well as pledges collected from members of the community. The bank provided $8,500 in corporate sponsorships to serve as a foundation for team fundraising.
