Independent Bank Henry Street office in Muskegon construction complete

Independent Bank recently completed phase two of construction of the Henry Street office in Muskegon. The building, which first opened in December, is being completed in three phases. The new office is the bank’s second location in Muskegon and represents one part of a larger plan for the company to expand in the lakeshore market.
“I came to the bank two years ago with the goal of building our presence on the lakeshore. We think Muskegon is an area of great growth and opportunity.” said José Infante, senior vice president of commercial lending.
With the completion of phase two, associates have begun occupying the north side of the building which includes the lobby area, four teller windows, six offices, one conference room and two drive-up lanes. The third and final phase of construction has begun on the south side of the building and is expected to be completed in late June.
The bank chose to remodel and expand an existing building in the Roosevelt Park neighborhood. The goal was to provide additional service to the area while reusing an existing structure. “By repurposing the building we add to the surrounding neighborhood aesthetically and demonstrate our corporate values of environmental responsibility,” said Shelby Reno, senior vice president of marketing and communications.
The almost 8000 sq. ft. Henry Street office serves as the headquarters for the bank’s lakeshore operations, offering a full range of commercial, retail and investment services and housing banking office associates, commercial lenders and support associates. Hours are Monday through Friday 9 am to 5 pm. Specials and promotions will be offered for customers and non-customers who visit either the Harvey Street office or the new Henry Street office. The special offers will run May 19 through June 27. The specials will be promoted in the Muskegon locations and through newspaper ads.
