SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich.— Independent Bank marked the grand opening of its new Shelby Township banking office with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on July 18. The ceremonial ribbon was be comprised of $1,000 in currency and is a donation from the bank to the Shelby Community Foundation.

“We are happy to be able to recognize work of the Shelby Community Foundation during our grand opening celebration,” said Independent Bank’s Jessica Swanson, who manages the Shelby Township office.

The goal of the Shelby Community Foundation is to promote activities and programs providing opportunities to township residents in the areas of cultural enrichment, historic preservation, recreation, education and community beautification.

A unique feature of the Shelby Township location is the video display screens in the drive-up banking lanes, which allow the teller to see the customer and the customer to see the teller. “Independent Bank prides itself on its personalized banking service,” said Swanson. “The drive-up video screens ensure that our customers know they are our top priority.”

The branch has four teller windows, three drive-up banking lanes and a drive-up ATM. Additional features include four offices and a conference room.
